More About

Our Head Psychologist

Jana is an experienced Educational Psychologist, having obtained her qualifications in 2005 after having first taught languages at a school for children with special needs. Her interest in psychology was sparked, when as a special needs teacher, she came face to face with the destructive impact trauma has on children’s emotional and psychological development. Which impact, in some cases, reaches far beyond the adolescent and childhood years.

As a therapist, Jana, who is no stranger to trauma, deeply values the safety and security a therapeutic space provides. The safety of a therapeutic setting allows one to revisit painful memories, break the silence, and tell untold stories that hold one captive in the trauma grasp.

Jana believes that a solid therapeutic relationship holds the potential for the client to have corrective experiences. The client can change outdated or destructive behavioural patterns to be that is lighter, less burdened, and less influenced by trauma triggers.

When psychology and law meet in the arena of life, people and especially children, are at their most vulnerable. Jana has great compassion for children caught up in legal battles between their parents. In these cases, her internalised knowledge and experience of children in trauma serve her well. She has gained extensive experience in high-conflict divorce cases by assisting the court in making informed decisions on the best course of action.
